Welcome one and welcome all to planet One Man Melt. One Man Melt started in 2007 when we were grinding to a halt by the monotonous sounds of music we heard week in, week out in every bar, pub and soulless joint in town.  We finally decided to act and One Man Melt was formed.  It was our little way of standing up against the wine bar and dance culture and trying to create nights where people could come and enjoy good music and have good nights out, rather than just following a fake scene.  Our nights and gigs have an eclectic mix of sounds from the Indie Pop and Psychedelic world.

Our first official event was a local music 1 day festival called Spelmanbury.  This was held in Essex, and had 10 bands playing throughout the day.  The bands ranged from local bands, to bands from Leeds and Liverpool playing.  A very hectic day, but a very enjoyable one too.  Spelmanbury had whetted our appetites.

After doing local gigs, we decided to pitch our tent in London.  We started doing gigs in and around London, with Hoxton Bar and Grill being our regular venue of choice.  Starting off on Sundays, our gigs were called The Sunday Sermon.  Bands such as Portico Quartet, The Thirst and WinterKids headlined these Sunday sessions, along with many excellent bands including The Brian Jacket Letdown, The Draytones, The Dallas Guild and Honeycube.

The highlight of our first year of doing gigs in 2008 was having The Aliens play Hoxton Bar and Grill, on the 14 October 2008.  A sell out crowd of 320 people with an electrifying atmosphere in a compact venue,  Gordon Anderson, John Maclean and Robin Jones put on an amazing gigThe Aliens received glowing reviews of the night from all that were fortunate to attend, including a 5 star review in The Independent.
